We process personal data only to the extent necessary to operate this website and respond to your enquiries, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German law. Below you can find out what data we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Hosting
This website runs on our own server in the data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) within the EU. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Hetzner pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
Server log files
Each time a page is accessed, the server automatically records: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, the amount of data transferred, browser type and version, and operating system.
We need this data to keep the website stable and secure, for example to fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The records are deleted after 30 days and are not combined with other data.
Encryption
Data between your browser and our website is transmitted over an encrypted connection (TLS). You can tell by the address starting with https:// and the padlock icon in the address bar.
Visitor statistics
To understand which parts of the website are useful, we use Matomo, open-source software installed on our own server. The data is not shared with the developer of Matomo or any other third party.
Matomo works without cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records: pages viewed, time and duration of the visit, navigation between pages, the referring website, device type, operating system, browser, language, country and region.
The region is determined from the IP address, which is then shortened: the last two bytes are removed and the full IP address is not stored. To group page views into a single visit, Matomo creates a pseudonymous identifier that changes daily and cannot be used to recognise you on later visits. If “Do Not Track” is enabled in your browser, your visit is not recorded.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in analysing and improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Raw data is deleted after 6 months; after that, only aggregated reports are kept.
Your opt-out is stored in your browser. If you clear your browser data, you will need to opt out again.
Language selection
When you choose a language, your choice is saved in your browser’s storage (localStorage) so that the website appears in that language next time. This information is not sent to the server. This storage is strictly necessary for a function you have requested and does not require consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the entry in your browser settings.
Contact by email and phone
If you write to us or call us, we process your details (name, company, contact details and the content of your enquiry) in order to reply and to prepare or perform a contract. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our email runs on Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland). We have a data processing agreement with Microsoft. A transfer of data to the USA cannot be ruled out: Microsoft is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and EU Standard Contractual Clauses also apply (Art. 45, 46 GDPR).
If an enquiry does not lead to a contract, we delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed. Business correspondence relating to contracts is kept for the periods required by German commercial and tax law, up to 10 years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO; Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right at any time to obtain, free of charge, information about the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), and to request its rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and portability (Art. 20).
Right to object. Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to such processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
To do so, simply write to info@westkonta.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
